Overview
Drednaw VMAX is a tough Pokemon because of its Ability, Solid Shell. The Ability makes Drenaw take 30 less damge from the attacks. Also, its has decent amount of HP [320]. It will be very difficult to OHKO your Drednaw VMAX since 350 damage is required and not many attacks can accumulate that amount of damage in Standard Format. Although it has Lightning Weakness, you don't have to worry too much about it because Lightning Decks are not very popular right now.
Its only attack, G-MAX Headbutt [2 Water Energy and 1 Colorless Energy] has 180 base damage and does extra 80 damage if you get head from flipping a coin. If you are lucky, you will be able to deal 240 damage to your opponent's Active Pokemon. In fact,240 damage for 3 Energy is quite generous and it is strong enough to OHKO almost any Basic V Pokemon.
On the other hand, its pre-evolution, Drednaw V attack, Powerful Bite [2 Water Energy and 1 Colorless Energy] has 130 damage and has an effect of preventing your opponent's from retreating. It also processes the same Ability as Drednaw V.
One thing to take note is that both Drednaw V and Drednaw VMAX has very high Retreat Cost [4 Energy]. So, you definitely need to put "Switch Item" in your deck to switch with it with your other Benched Pokemon. Otherwise, you will need to sacrifice 4 Energy to retreat.
Increase and Heal HP
You can make Drednaw VMAX even tougher by equipping it with Big Charm to get additional 30 HP. Then, your Drednaw VMAX will have 350 HP and your opponent need 380 damage to OHKO it.
As the game continues, it is unavoidable that your Drednaw VMAX HP will be reduced. But, you still can control your Drednaw VMAX HP reduction with proper healing which will make it survive longer. Indeedee V Ability, Watch Over can heal 20 damage from your Active Drednaw VMAX. Because Indeedee V is Basic Pokemon, it is not hard to set up and you can easily put 2 Indeedee V to heal 40 damage from Drednaw VMAX every turn.
If you are not satisfied with not satisfied with previous amount of heal, you can complete heal all your Drednaw VMAX by using Cheryl. However, you have to discard all Energy cards from those Pokemon that receive healing effect.
Flip Coin again
You might not always get head when flipping a coin for G-Max Headbutt. In this case, you can flip a coin again if you put Glimwood Tangel in play before you use that attack, So that your chance of getting head will be increased and you will have higher chance deal 240 damage from G-Max Headbutt.
Energy Setup
Frosmoth Ability, Ice Dance let you attach as many as Water Energy from your hand to 1 of your Benched Drednaw VMAX. With this Ability, you will be able to attach 3 Water Energy to your Benched Drednaw VMAX and start using its attack, G-Max Headbutt. If you don't have enouhg Water Energy in your hand to use Ice Dance Ability, you can use Capacious Bucket to find 2 Water Energy from your deck.
